Sherif Shafey, PT DPT

Since 2012, Sherif has been the owner and Senior Physiotherapist of Physiocan.  He graduated from the Faculty of Physical Therapy at Cairo University in 1995.  Sherif completed his Doctorate degree from Stony Brook University in New York in 2010.  He completed the programme for Contemporary Neuro Functional Acupuncture at McMaster University in 2013 and became certified in Active Release Technique for Upper and Lower Extremities and Spine in 2017.   Sherif is also a registered Kenisio Taping Administrator and Functional Capacity Evaluator.

Nivirt Tadrous, PT

Nivirt Tadrous is a Registered Physiotherapist at our clinic. Nivirt has outstanding experience in the field of physiotherapy. She graduated from the Faculty of Physical Therapy at Cairo University in Egypt. She has M.Sc degree in Physical Therapy from the same university in 2002 . Nivirt has attended many post graduate courses in physiotherapy over the past 25 years such as Manual Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Diagnosis and Treatment (2009), Pain Control Using Non-invasive Modalities (2000), Cerebral Palsy (1996), Sports Medicine (1996), Cardiac Rehabilitation (1995) and Acupuncture (2018). Nivirt is in the clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and we are so excited to have her as part of your rehab team!

Manjeet Mundhe, PT CMP

Manjeet is a Registered Physiotherapist and Certified Mulligan Practitioner.  He specializes in Spine and Joint Mobilization techniques.  He is also trained in Acupuncture and Dry Needling.  Manjeet uses a holistic approach when treating patients.  He uses various advanced techniques such as correcting joint positional faults, joint mobilization with movements, manual therapy, soft tissue release, designing patient specific exercise programs and pain relief modalities.  He treats a wide range of conditions and patients from all age groups.  He has extensive experience working with sports teams and athletes.  Manjeet enjoys an active lifestyle and we are fortunate to have him on staff!

Jenelle Knox, RMT

Jenelle graduated from Medix College in 2014 and registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Before starting her studies, she worked as a Physiotherapist Assistant for a year. It was there that Jenelle learned she had a passion for helping people relieve their pain and improve their physical abilities. She focuses on the therapeutic part of massage therapy in pain relief techniques such as myofascial releases, trigger point therapy, and general massage, which are all incorporated with stretching and strengthening of the muscles.

Kaitlyn Bossema, RMT

​Kaitlyn graduated with Honours from the Mohawk College Massage Therapy Program in December 2016, and became registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.  She also has her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and is certified in Cup Therapy.  Kaitlyn uses a variety of techniques to treat multiple musculoskeletal conditions such as sprains, strains, trigger points, and tendonitis. Specific treatment experience includes working with low back pain, pregnancy, headaches, adhesive capsulitis, degenerative disc disease, fibromyalgia, and nerve impingements such as carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatica.  Maintaining client sensitivity is of utmost importance to her. In her spare time, Kaitlyn enjoys spending time outside or hanging out with friends and family.

Ryan Brissett, PTA

Ryan has been a physiotherapy assistant with Physiocan since September 2015. He graduated from Trios College in Physiotherapy/ Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Ryan has a passion for helping people. He is certified in CPR and HCP 2018. He is an active member in the community with volunteering at the Toronto food bank and he enjoys working out and keeping healthy.

Farrukh, PTA

We are so pleased that Farrukh has recently joined our team as a Physiotherapy Assistant. He is an internationally educated Physiotherapist and in the process of completing a challenging physiotherapy competency exam in Canada. He has obtained his Post-graduate diploma in Healthcare management from the United Kingdom. He has completed a Master’s degree in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The University of Western Ontario and was concurrently a Teaching Assistant in that institution. His previous Canadian work experience includes working in a long-term care home and nursing facilities. Farrukh believes in encouraging his clients to participate in their plan of care, and by this means he helps to maximize functional abilities and promotes independence.

Tony Merendino, DPM

Tony Merendino, DPM (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine) is a registered chiropodist here at PhysioCan. He was trained in Podiatry in the United States and practiced there for 14 years. In 2009 he moved to Ontario to be a part of the chiropody program at The Michener Institute of Education at UHN, where he continues in his current role as a professor.

Wendy Roman, Office Manager

Wendy graduated with her diploma as a Personal Support Worker in 2011 and graduated from Trios College with Honors in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant program in 2017. She has comprehensive knowledge in the health care industry. Wendy has recently taken on the manager role at Physiocan and is excited to be your leader in making your experience here rewarding.
